Conceived and created by Co-Founders Emanuel and Nadja, em.na grew out of a shared passion for design, storytelling, and architecture.

In 2025, the couple evolved their passion into a lifestyle brand that explores, curates and documents innovative tiny houses and micro homes based on the Yutori concept – a Japanese philosophy of spaciousness, calm, and minimalism.

At the heart of em.na are its founders themselves — two individuals whose distinct strengths and perspectives perfectly complement each other. Their collaboration unites strategy and precision with vivid imagination and visionary drive, forming the foundation of em.na’s unique approach to design and storytelling.

  • Emanuel / Co-Founder

    Financial Supervisor & Visual Storyteller

Emanuel is the team’s financial supervisor who juggles the numbers with ease. With his studies in Governance and Finance, he monitors all financial flows and makes sure the numbers stay in balance.

Overseeing all processes, he questions every new idea and ensures that even the most sparkling vision undergoes a rigorous test. His motto is: Work smarter, not harder — breaking every workflow down to its essentials. He develops concepts further, grounding them so that they can truly take root.

Emanuel is also the team’s pilot in the air — always on the lookout for new perspectives, capturing them through videography and weaving video footage into compelling stories.

Growing up in a guesthouse gave him empathy and a deep understanding of people from different backgrounds and cultures.

If you want to make him happy: serve him an oat milk coffee, put a good game in front of him, and give him some quiet time.

  • Nadja / Co-Founder

    Organizational Supervisor & Creative Director

Nadja is our Creative Director — nothing leaves without her discerning eye, seeking clarity and aesthetics in both imagery and language. The visionary of our team, she is always one step ahead. Her entrepreneurial spirit and love for adventure sparkle in her eyes, and for her nothing is impossible if approached with courage and heart.

She leads the overarching visual and editorial direction — photographing, writing, and designing. With a background in Picture Editing and Media Studies and a PhD that sharpens her precision and almost empirical curiosity, she approaches each house as a story to be explored, carefully noted, and brought to life. Years of experience as an author enrich her ability to craft vivid, atmospheric texts.

Growing up in a Bed & Breakfast, she learned early on what it means to make guests feel at home and cared for. Combined with her training in Cultural Management and International Arts Cooperation, this gave her the cosmopolitan spirit needed to lead a global project to success.

If you want to win her over: give her fries, sit with her by the sea, and watch an approaching storm with her.
